ASAP WALL STAYS INTACT DESPITE 3 BLASTS!
Marines Ballistic and Blast Demonstrations at Quantico during FPED5

Severna Park, MD
—Finishing the Department of State certification for
antiballistic, anti-forced entry and antiblast, Antiballistic Security And Protection (ASAP) was invited to participate in tests connected with the U.S. Department of Defense Force Protection Equipment Demonstration 5 (FPED5) trade show. FPED5 was held April 26-28 at the U.S. Marines Quantico Virginia base. ASAP had erected an 8 foot by 8 foot panel at their blast site. The demonstrations were designed to blast with 50 pounds of TNT placed just 20 feet away.

The outcome--no damage. The same panel was blasted on three consecutive days and not only stayed intact, but even after the third demonstration, revealed only a couple of hairline cracks. “Obviously,” notes Ron Hubbard, architect and director of ASAP, “each subsequent blast proved that the ASAP wall can take multiple hits and still protect personnel
as well as equipment.”

Meanwhile, on the same three consecutive days, at the ballistic range on
Quantico, the Marines gave the wall “their best shot” with field rifle, shotgun
and 9mm handgun. Each separate panel tested showed no penetration of the back of the panel by any weapon.

The ASAP panels are lightweight compared to other types of antiballistic barriers, affording rapid construction. Tailored to the level required by threat analysis, patent-pending ASAP walls can be used for the outer perimeter, exterior walls or create a secure interior conference room such as a post communications center (PCC) or safe haven in any building. For permanent installations, exterior walls can be finished in stucco. brick, stone, etc., with the interior side sheet rocked and finished normally. Further benefits of the wall are excellent thermal “R” ratings (40 plus) and a one-hour fire rating.

Antiballistic Security And Protection, Inc., is a Maryland corporation and directed by a seasoned team of professionals with experience in design/construction both for the U.S. Government and private sectors.
